Jardin Rocalla consists of two cabins; La Pequenita and La Grande and is located less than a five minute walk down a private path to the Black Sand Beach (Playa Negra). The beach is popular for both surfers and swimmers and is a 10 minute walk to town. The cabins are built by the owner, who is a Swiss trained wood craftsman and are a mix of stone and wood. The owner has his studio on the premises where he fashions high quality handmade wooden furniture from locally sourced wood.
The Cahuita National Park is also at the end of the town about a 15 minute walk from the cabins. The Park has a white wand beach and 7 km trail to Puerto Vargas. Many animals call the Park home such as sloths, monkeys, racoons, snakes, insects, the Blue Morphos butterfly, Watusas and various flora.
